D.O.Penedès is the most innovative wine region of Spain. It is the Spanish home of the first sparkling and petillant wines, the first Cabernets, Pinots, Merlots and Chardonnays, the first organic wines and brotitis dessert wines. There are dozens of creative young wine-makers and small wineries producing excellent and original brews. We know the wines and the wine-makers. We look foward to introducing our visitors to the best this beautiful wine country has to offer.
Penedès and the other wine regions of Southern Catalunya are bursting with Iberian, Roman, Moorish, Romanesque, Gothic, Modernist and contempory culture. In summer and winter the region purrs with festa majors, wine and food events, theatre, cinema and art festivals, medieval fairs, parades, pageants and local events. We keep a close eye on the cultural calendar so you get in touch with and taste the real Southern Catalunya.
Alt Penedès is in Barcelona province, an hour to the south of the city. It has been our home for more than 12 years. We like small and friendly with lots of variety, so there will be sparkling wine producers and red wine specialists with Catalan culture, countryside and gastronomy in between.
