5 day / 4 night Winery Tour of Southern Catalunya

Follow the Via Augusta and the old pilgrim and trade routes through the wine and olive regions of Penedès, Conca de Barbera, and Priorat.

a selection of wines at Irreductibles Restaurant, Priorat

Southern Catalunya was the store house and holiday home of the Roman Empire, and the frontier land between Christians and Moors for some 400 years. The area is famous for its wines, dried fruit and olives. Today the aspect and rhythm of the area remains much as it was hundreds of years ago. There is the incredible diversity of landscapes from one county to the other. The soft rolling lanes of Penedès pick up the pilgrim route to woody Conca de Barbera and follow the line of the Prades mountains to spectacular Priorat, a world of liquorella slate rock pyramids on which some of the world's oldest vines grow and rarest wines are made.

tasting wines at Loxarel winery, Penedes.

During this trip you will visit 12 wineries, meet the winemakers and learn what makes each brew different. You will be surrounded by the some of the finest wines and excellent Mediterranean slow cooking, food full of long natural flavours. Don't be surprised if you find yourself picking grapes, olives or almonds, building a human castle or turning calçots on a grill of flaming vine trimmings. We know where the best wines, routes and local attractions are so you get in touch with real Catalunya.
