Harvest Crush Bike & Wine 1 Day experience
Come to beautiful Penedès wine country for a cycling, grape-picking, wine tasting, grape crushing, eating and drinking experience. (August/September/October)
At harvest time in Penedes, the roads between vineyards and wineries are covered with fermenting grape juice and the smell wafts in the air. After sunset the landscape vibrates with processions of tractors on their way to the bodegas and presses.
If you'd like to touch the grape in every way imaginable, we promise you grapes up to your eyes.
Our day begins with a short cycle to the winery. Our host will have a section of vineyard reserved for us and will explain the history of the vineyard and basic method for picking before giving us our clippers.
Once picking you will be surprised as a dormant gene deep inside you tingles with joy of collecting ripe fruit. We follow the grapes to the Bodega and witness the pressing and beginning of the wine-making process. Then it's time for a wine tasting and a light snack before the grape crushing ceremony. This is performed bare foot and everybody participates in teams to press the juice from the grapes.
Having made our contribution to the harvest we clean off with fresh water and sun.
A wonderful harvest buffet is waiting... salads, fresh bread smeared Catalan style with tomato, oil and salt, patés and cold meats, grilled red peppers and aubergines,
A full selection of Penedes white, rose, red wines and cavas accompany the meal.

13.30 Harvest Picnic Lunch, Catalan style bread slathered with tomatoes and olive oil, buffet of salads, pork cold cuts and cheese, fresh & dried fruits, accompanied by a selection of wines and cavas.
15.30 Visit Winery Cavas where the sparkling wine ages
17.00 Time to bid goodbye to your hosts.
18.30 Tour concludes in Vilafranca / train or transfer to Barcelona.
20.00 Arrive Barcelona, Pl Catalunya/Rambles.
