Catalan Country Calçotades

We bring you the classic Catalan tradition of vine roasted spring onions served with creamy Romesco sauce. We have arranged calçotades on the scenic sides of mountains, in the gardens of Catalan country "masias" and wineries, as well as in the rustic atmosphere of El Molí, a 18C paper mill. A calçotada is an ideal chill out for large groups of friends and collegues, involving a journey into the country, a visit to a local winery, some light exercise, and the traditional onion feast accompanied by vermouth, picapic, grilled "buitfarra" and lamb, all washed down with hardy wines from a "Porron" drinking vessel. For dessert there is traditional "Coca" and Cava. White polos and blouses should be avoided in favour of thrusty wolly jumpers and informal wear.
